After months of back and forth with the Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad, General Chairman Krause achieved an agreement that produced sizable gains for our membership and was unanimously supported by the shop floor. Some of the agreement’s highlights are a $1,000.00 signing bonus and 15% wage increases over the next four years. This agreement also provided our membership with true-up money that resulted in some members receiving as much as 22% at signing and full retroactive wages.
General Chairman Krause stated, “This agreement was hard fought, and our members came out ahead. The 100% participation in the ratification shows that our members were engaged in this round of bargaining, and we delivered.”
District 19 President Andrew Sandberg said: “District 19 is determined to reverse the industry trend that railroaders need to make concessions to get a livable wage increase. I’m very proud that General Chairman Krause set his sights on achieving the kind of significant wage increases and rule changes our membership deserves.”
